The Personal Development Systems of Tae Chi for the Mind, Body and Spirit

The foundation of Yang Sheng Healthy Life Tai Chi contains Three Pillars that are universal to all good Tai Chi systems.

The First Pillar of the Healthy Life Tai Chi System is Mindful Meditation

This is the part of the program that develops “Active Focus”.

When you decide to be quiet in a quiet place and focus your mind on feeling or sensing your breath and body, then your mental activity will decrease as long as you desire that objective. We think on average thousands of thoughts every day (some say 20k, others 50k -70k). Rarely are the thoughts about the present -they are usually about the future or past.

Mindful Meditation as done in the Healthy Life Tai Chi program creates a Relaxation Response.

As your brain shifts away from the stress response to fractured, fluctuating thoughts, your stress hormones are replaced by relaxation hormones like oxytocin, dopamine, nitric oxide, and endorphins. You feel good immediately and benefit from long-term results like reduced heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, and muscle tension.

Regular elicitation of the relaxation response has been scientifically proven to be an effective treatment for a wide range of stress-related disorders. In fact, to the extent that any disease that is caused or made worse by stress, the relaxation response can help.

The Second Pillar of the Healthy Life Tai Chi System is Qigong

In the Healthy Life Tai Chi System Qigong exercises are done to improve longevity and reverse the effects of aging and disease. The exercises help strengthen your immune system and improve overall health.

There is a reason the Chinese masters of Qigong (pronounced chee-gong) are known for their longevity. Actually, while this may sound new to you, Qigong, a traditional practice of energy cultivation, promotes optimal health, vitality, and longevity.

Through Qigong practice we can improve posture which leads to improved blood circulation and breathing.

Qigong is one of the four branches of traditional Chinese medicine: Acupuncture, Massage, Herbs, and Qigong. Qigong exercises are among the best exercises to help you fulfill your health goals. These exercise can be done seated, standing, or even lying down.

The Healthy Life Tai Chi Promise is that every person who uses Qi cultivation methods consistently experiences some form of health improvement and personal access to greater energy and power.

The Third Pillar of the Healthy Life Tai Chi System is the Martial Arts Practice of Tai Chi.

These slow, gentle self-defense movements improve balance, mobility, and confidence.

Tai chi challenges the body gently by providing load bearing exercises to improve your balance, strength, and flexibility. This gentle form of exercise could be the perfect activity for the rest of your life.

Tai chi is often described as “meditation in motion,” but it might as well be called “medication in motion.” There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art form, has value in treating or preventing many health problems.

One of the benefits of our Healthy Life Tai Chi System is its ability to reduce stress.
